Rita is currently a PhD candidate at NOVA School of Law, developing her thesis on the rules and procedural guarantees of administrative sanctions procedures applicable within the European banking supervision system of the euro area.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws from NOVA School of Law (2010) and a Master’s in Law and Management from the Lisbon School of Business and the Lisbon School of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal (2014).
Previously, Rita worked at the law firm Uría Menéndez for almost 12 years in the areas of commercial, corporate and civil litigation, restructuring and insolvency, advising on both the pre-litigation and litigation phases of various disputes.
During this time, Rita has specialised in representing Portuguese companies and their directors in administrative and judicial proceedings relating to serious administrative offences before banking, insurance and securities regulators.
