Maria Estela Lopes

Estela is currently a PhD candidate at the European University Institute, where she is working on her thesis “Outsourcing Public Intelligence: Assessing the Publicness in Public-Sector Artificial Intelligence Development Outsourcing”.

 

She holds a Law degree from NOVA School of Law and a Master’s in Administrative Law from the Lisbon School of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal.

 

Before starting her PhD, she worked as an associate lawyer in the Public and Regulatory Law department of the law firm Uría Menéndez for five years.

 

Additionally, she was a teaching assistant at the Lisbon School of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal.
